Inspiration

I have known Yuri my whole life. A friend, a mentor, a second mother.

Forging is the process that my sister Michel used to create beautiful works of art.

My recent piece, “Kaleidoscope”, is a print of one of my father’s paintings, cut into pieces with the addition of my artwork with paint, paper and pens.

My dad and I used to paint together. He had a little shop in the back of the house. I was about eight or nine years old, I think at the time.

My mother, aka mom, not only made a lunch for me every morning before I went to school, but also made my clothes, from dresses to skirts, to shirts, to patching my Levi jeans and teaching me how to thread a needle and sew on a button and hem a dress.

When November and December roll around each year, I bake cookies. I bake lots and lots of cookies, for friends and family and people lucky enough to find me.
