Artist Note: One day I stumbled upon a pile of old Vogue magazines. My mom had these delivered to the house every month when I was about 8 years old. My mother had kept these magazines, little did I know how much joy they would bring me in my future. This is the first of many collages using her old magazines. I decided that it was time to begin to honor her and her talents. Not only was my mother a great inspiration to me she was a wonderful mother, wife, friend, seamstress and entrepreneur.

The women that I depicted in this piece reflect the confidence and explicit attitude that my mother embodied.

Artist Note: This piece reminds me of sauntering down the Champs-Elysees with the Eiffel Tower in the distance. Outdoor Cafes and the chattering of content and cheerful customers, colorful buildings and people dressed in dazzling clothing.

Artist Note: This piece was again inspired by my mother. These ladies have a bit of mischief going on. Causing havoc in a nearby park. They are enjoying their freedom, as they didn’t realize I had spotted them one evening.

Artist Note:  This piece was inspired by my mother who was independent and strong-willed. She taught me about confidence and to be self-sufficient and follow my dreams. These women stand strong and true and will not be deterred even amongst obstacles being thrown in their path.
