Kaleidoscope
My recent piece, “Kaleidoscope”, is a print of one of my father’s paintings, cut into pieces with the addition of my artwork using paint, paper and pens.
It feels as if we were working together in spirit. I let the lines and curves find their own way as I cut and placed them on the background.
This not only keeps a wonderful memory alive but gives me a sense of warmth and peace.
His original is hanging in my hallway. I didn’t understand how much my father influenced me in the art world until I found this piece hidden in a garage for 40 years and studied it. The dots, curves and lines look like mine! So I absorbed a lot of ideas regarding space and color from my own father without even realizing it. So absolutely wonderful!
