Kaleidoscope / 32” x 40”
Collage using mixed media

Artist Note: In this piece the lines of gold remind me of when I was a child. I would hold a kaleidoscope up to the light and gently turn the bottom edge. The turning would make a sound of falling pieces of colored glass making endless designs as the light passed through them.

The darker colors and designs are from a work that my father created. Together we collaborated in spirit. This not only keeps a wonderful memory alive, but gives me a sense of warmth and peace.

Kites in Flight / 39” x 35”
Collage using mixed media

Artist Note: This piece is a triptych. It is approximately 39” x 35”, but changes depending on how it is spaced when hanging. It is printed on aluminum giving it a smooth texture with vibrant color. It is a limited edition of 15.

This piece reminds me of kites flying high on a hillside with many people crowding together for the fun and laughter.

Dancing Origami
20” x 30”
Collage using mixed media

Artist Note: This piece was inspired by the beauty of origami. It has a three-dimensional effect and the colors are vibrant. It takes an amazing amount of patience and expertise with each tiny intricate fold of paper to be a successful origamist, this piece is a tribute to those who are.

Scattered / 9” x 18”
Collage using mixed media
HAND EMBELLISHED

Artist Note: This piece was inspired by the many pieces of paper I have in bags and that drop periodically onto the floor.  Many of these shapes seem to have found a home and fit into and close to each other, while others are more independent and are keeping their distance.

Luminous / 12” x 30”
Collage using mixed media
HAND EMBELLISHED

Artist Note: This piece was inspired by my sister, a very skilled jeweler. She was a very well-known artist and her process involved the shaping of metal through hammering, pressing and rolling. This piece can be back lit when desired, giving off a luminous effect reflecting through rice paper.  So as was mentioned to me, “It looks like jewelry on a wall”. It is my own rendition of a light box piece of artwork.
